What is the Precious Little podcast?
To be honest, we still don’t know.
It was started in September 2009 by James Hingley and Michael Legge who ramble on for over an hour each week proudly talking about nothing in particular.
Luckily, it’s funny. It’s also full of contributions from listeners who send in questions, heckles, poems and musical jingles while they are rewarded with Michael and James’s own special brand of verbal abuse.
There’s even a weekly “listening party” set up by listeners on Twitter. You should join in with that. It’s great.
The cheeky, chirpy pair of fucking twats decided on recording a podcast together after a long conversation about what it must be like to have jet-black, freezing cold semen during the 2009 Edinburgh Festival.
As good a reason as any to record a podcast, I’d say. I’ve been drinking, by the way.
Michael is a stand-up comedian and James isn’t. Michael is from Northern Ireland and James isn’t. Michael has a serious blood-pressure problem and shouts at everything that gets on his nerves to the point where you think he might have a heart attack at any minute and James isn’t.
Who is James? We don’t know. We never thought to ask.
Surprisingly, the podcast has now got a following (hardcore listeners are known as podophiles) and has been given kudos in Time Out Magazine (“Podcast Of The Week”) and NotBBC (nominated for Best Internet Comedy Show) among other equally useless sources.
You should download it. You might even like it.
